Running club from Turkmenistan took part in the international marathon in Samarkand for the first time

Representatives of the first amateur running club in Turkmenistan, Run Rush, successfully performed at the sixth international charity race Samarkand Marathon 2024, where all three team members showed high results, including setting personal records.

The large-scale sporting event, organized by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan, was attended by 5555 people from 43 countries. The marathon was held in the historical center of Samarkand with the start and finish on the famous Registan Square.

The Turkmen club was represented by three athletes: Selbi Hojayeva and Guvanch Gubayev, who covered the 10-kilometer distance with personal records of 59:14 and 55:24, respectively, as well as Timur Kulmuradov, who ran the half marathon (21.1 km) in 1:37:02.

The two-day marathon program included various distances from 2 to 42.2 kilometers, as well as children's races, plogging, Nordic walking and an inclusive race. Participants noted the high level of organization of the event and the unique atmosphere of the sports festival.
