The Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin took part in the mass bike ride, which was held today in Ashgabat.
According to the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission, employees of the Russian Embassy also took part in the sports event.
Let us remind that the bike ride in honor of International Bicycle Day was led by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
This holiday was proclaimed at the initiative of Turkmenistan by the UN General Assembly in 2018. Its goal is to promote the bicycle as an inexpensive and reliable mode of transport that promotes respect for the environment and maintaining health.
World Bicycle Day is widely celebrated in Turkmenistan every year: large- scale sports, cultural and educational events are held on this occasion in the capital and regions.
