Saudi Arabia to Host GCC-Central Asia Summit in Jeddah

Saudi Arabia is set to host a summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asian countries on July 19th in Jeddah, the Saudi Gazette newspaper reported on Thursday, citing a statement released by the Saudi Press Agency.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, has sent invitations to the leaders of all countries in the two blocs to attend the summit. The invitation was delivered to the Emir of Kuwait, Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The summit will host leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council and Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a political and economic union of six Middle Eastern countries (the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait) that was founded in 1981.
