Scientists: jeans harm the environment

Scientists from the Guangdong University of Technology studied the life cycle of jeans, from cotton cultivation to disposal, and found that some jeans are worn by owners only seven times. This was reported by Rubler with reference to Super.ru.

Fashion in the fast fashion format, where collections are updated weekly, turns jeans into fashion waste that litters the planet.

Each time you wear these jeans costs the planet 2.5 kg of CO2, which is equivalent to the emissions from a 10-kilometer drive in a gasoline car.

Scientists see a solution to the problem in the development of the second-hand market. The environmental impact becomes worthwhile when one pair of jeans is worn 120 times or more.
