Specialists of the Institute of livestock breeding and veterinary under the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan provides comprehensive assistance to livestock experts, livestock farmers and entrepreneurs the owners of livestock farms and complexes. The scientists go to the regions, visit the farms providing consultancy in breeding, vaccination and keeping of the animals.
As it was informed by the Institute two European breeds of cows, Holstein and Montbéliarde cattle, are bred in the country.At the same time, an old experiment with hybrid cattle breed Cuban zebu, which is very interesting and perspective for out region, is continued.
Experimental flock in around 500 livestock is kept in the south of Murgab Oasis on the pastries of livestock farms of Galymor and Enish, Serhetabat etrap.
Despite low diary productivity, the advantage of zebu breed is in its adaptaion to hot and cold climate, unpretentiousness and immunity to different diseases. These animals eat coarse-stem vegetation and cotton wastes and serve as genetic material for breeding of new perspective breeds with high meat productivity.
Using of zebu breeds in the conditions of all-year pastry keeping in our country will be an additional reserve in increase of beef production.
