President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people and Government of the country, has forwarded congratulations to Mr. Rishi Sunak on the occasion of his assumption of the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reported the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.
“We highly appreciate the established friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom”, noted the head of state, expressing great confidence that with joint efforts, bilateral cooperation will continue to develop consistently.
Taking this opportunity, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed wishes of good health, happiness and success in undertakings aimed at the prosperity of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Rishi Sunak officially become a third Prime Minister of Great Britain this year, took over the reins from Liz Truss, who stayed at this post only 45 days.On October 25, Sunak was approved for the new post by the British King Charles III who assigned him to form a Government.
On the same day, Sunak formed his Cabinet, in which several key Ministers kept their previous portfolios.
At 42, the former banker and finance minister became the youngest Prime Minister in the history of the United Kingdom after a meteoric rise in politics. Rishi Sunak is the first British leader of Indian origin and the first representative of the former British colony at the head of the Cabinet.
In May 2022, Sunak became the first front-row politician to be included in the list of the richest people in the UK compiled by The Sunday Times newspaper (his total capital with his wife was estimated at 730 million pounds, which gave them 222nd place in the ranking).
