Today, negotiations were held in Ashgabat between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, who arrived in the Turkmen capital on an official visit the day before.
As reports TASS, Speaker of the State Duma Volodin conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan “warm words of greeting” from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Volodin and Berdimuhamedov also discussed issues of cooperation between the parliaments of Turkmenistan and Russia.
The Chairman of the State Duma noted the need to develop a parliamentary dimension for the legislative support of decisions taken at the level of the leadership of the two states.
Let us note that the passing visit of the Duma delegation headed by its chairman was the first in 11 years.The Russian delegation also included Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Sholban Kara-ool, Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov, Chairman of the Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government Alexei Didenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education Alexander Mazhuga and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Irina Rodnina.
