President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov separately received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Turkmenistan Martin Brook and newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Lee Won-jae, according to official Turkmen media Wednesday.
Meeting With the New Ambassador of Italy:
The ambassador said it was a great honor to represent Italy in Turkmenistan, which pursues a peace-loving foreign policy, noting that Ashgabat’s architecture and environmental standards made a strong impression.
During an exchange of views on the bilateral agenda, the sides highlighted significant potential to expand cooperation in trade and economic, energy, transport and logistics, and agriculture.
The meeting also noted that the North-South and East-West transport corridors serve as a reliable bridge for developing cooperation and trade ties across Eurasia.
Meeting With the New Ambassador of South Korea:
The ambassador emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in implementing large-scale industrial projects and expressed gratitude to the president of Turkmenistan for creating favorable conditions for Korean companies operating in the country.
During the meeting, the sides underscored the importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation in strengthening interstate relations, bringing peoples closer together and promoting mutual cultural enrichment.The president of Turkmenistan noted favorable opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in science and education, pointing out that a King Sejong Institute Korean language center operates in Ashgabat, and expressed confidence in further strengthening ties between the two countries across various areas.
During the meetings, the new ambassadors of Italy and the Republic of Korea presented their credentials to Berdimuhamedov.
