Serdar Berdimuhamedov's visit to Uzbekistan has begun

This morning, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Samarkand to participate as an honored guest at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held on October 15-16 in this Uzbek city.

As reports the press service of the Uzbek leader, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials met the President of Turkmenistan at the airport.

In accordance with the program, today the President of Turkmenistan will visit the “Hazrat Hizr” complex, and will also participate in the commemoration ceremony for the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

It is expected that the leaders of fifteen states, including China, Kazakhstan, India, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Türkiye and other countries will participate in the SCO summit.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov will participate for the first time as a guest of honor in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO Member States after taking office as President of Turkmenistan in March this year.

Earlier it was reported that on the sidelines of the summit, the Turkmen leader would hold bilateral talks with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
