Serdar Berdymukhammedov presents TAPI project in New York and meets with the UN Secretary General

On July 18, 2018, the UNDP headquarters in New York hosted a presentation entitled “TAPI Gas Pipeline: New Energy Great Silk Road to provide access to reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”.

The event brought together the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhammedov, permanent representatives of Turkmenistan, India and Afghanistan, deputy permanent representative of Pakistan, the UNDP Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan E.

Panova, Chairman of the board and CEO of TAPI Pipeline Çompany Limited М.Amanov, officials from the EU and UNDP, delegations from the UN member states, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry reports.

On 19 July the President’s son met with the UN Secretary General António Guterres.

According to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, the Secretary General emphasized the role of Turkmenistan in the issues of security, refugees, migration and support of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

Later that day members of Turkmenistan’s delegation met with the UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner.

Let us recall that on 4-5 July 2018 the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Serdar Berdymukhmammedov paid a working visit to Geneva.
