Sergey Meladze is bronze medallist of Asian Paralympic Games in Indonesia

Sergey Meladze won bronze medal in powerlifting competitions at Asian Paralympic Games in the capital of Indonesia.

Being multiple winner of international competitions, S.Meladze set the weight under the first three attempts in the weight category up to 72 kg.He easily lifted 182 kg from the first attempt.

In the next attempt, he successfully managed to lift 185 kg.Only the final attempt to the weight of 187 kg was not successful for our sportsman.

Our compatriot had to compete against ten strongest powerlifter of Asia but due to his skills and will to win S. Meladze won the bronze. Our compatriot was 14 kg ahead of the sportsmen from Tajikistan and Japan and yielded only to the winners of Paralympic Games 2016 and the World Cup.

It is worth mentioning the Sergey Meladze has big experience in big international competitions; he participated in the Paralympic Games in London, Rio de Janeiro and the World cups, in the beginning of 2018, our athlete won the silver of the World Cup in Powerlifting competitions for the sportsmen with limited capabilities in United Arab Emirates.
