Today, at the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, arrived in Turkmenistan on a two-day official visit, reports the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.
At the Ashgabat International Airport, decorated with the National flags of two friendly countries, the high guest was met by the Vice-Premier Batyr Atdayev and other officials.
A guard of Honor was lined up along the carpet leading from the plane ramp in honor of the arrival of the distinguished guest. According to the established tradition, a boy and a girl in national costumes presented bread, salt and flowers to the leader of a friendly country.
From the air harbor, the motorcade of the head of Uzbekistan, accompanied by an honorary escort of motorcyclists, proceeded to the residence of the distinguished guest, the “Oguzkent” Hotel, set aside for the visit.
In accordance with the program of the visit, on October 21, an official meeting ceremony of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be held in Ashgabat and Turkmen-Uzbek negotiations at the highest level will be held.
This will be the fifth meeting of the presidents of the two countries since July this year.
On July 14 15, was conducted a state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan, which opened a new page in the history of modern bilateral relations.
The leaders of the two countries also met on the sidelines of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States conducted on July 21 in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan), the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand (September 15-16), as well as the CIS and Central AsiaRussia summits held on October 13-14 in Astana (Kazakhstan).
The upcoming summit is also marked by the fact that it takes place in the year of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
In the focus of the current talks are the deepening of the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of strategic partnership on the new stage, increasing the volume of mutual trade, expansion of cooperation in industry, energy and chemical fields, agriculture, sphere of transport and logistics, continuation of active cultural and humanitarian exchange.
As a result of the negotiations, the sides are expected to sign a complex of bilateral agreements on priority areas of cooperation.
On the second day of the visit, the President of Uzbekistan will visit the Memorial Complex “People's Memory” in Ashgabat, where he will lay a wreath in memory of the heroes who left their mark on the glorious historical past of the Turkmen people, and get acquainted with the exposition of the museum located there.
During the visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan also planned the opening of the “Tashkent” park in Ashgabat and the joint launch oа a project for the construction of a Border Trade Zone.
