Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed mutual recognition of ID cards in Central Asia

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward an initiative for mutual recognition of ID cards between the countries of Central Asia. This proposal was made during his speech at the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Astana, kun.uz reports.

The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that the tourism sector is becoming a new driver of regional partnership in Central Asia.

It Is worth noting that a similar system is already in effect between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. From September 1, 2023, citizens of these two countries can use ID cards to enter, exit, move and stay in the territory of both states.
