Today, the number of people growing silkworms in Lebap velayat exceeds 20 thousand. The production association “Lebapyupek” (“Lebap sericulture”) has concluded an agreement with all sericulture.
This year, all silkworm entrepreneurs were provided with silkworms grown in Turkmenistan, as well as brought from China; they have more than 2,5 thousand hectares of mulberry trees at their disposal.
It is expected that after the rainy season, the farmers of the velayat will hand over 1010 tons of silk thread to “Lebapyupek”, reports the publication Jeyhun.news.
