Society CNPC Head Congratulates Turkmen President on 20 Years of Gas Cooperation

General Director of the Turkmenistan branch of China National Petroleum Corporation International Ltd. (CNPC), Du Yuming sent a congratulatory message to Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 20th anniversary of cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the gas sector, the Zaman newspaper reported Friday.

The message said that over the past two decades, cooperation between the sides has become an example of a mutually beneficial strategic partnership based on trust, equality and a long-term perspective.

Yuming noted that the corporation’s participation in the development of the Galkynysh gas field, one of the largest in the world, marked an important stage in strengthening Turkmenistan’s energy potential and symbolized a high level of trust between the countries.

In conclusion, CNPC wished the Turkmen president good health and success in state activities, and the people of the country peace, prosperity and further achievements.

Since the launch of the TurkmenistanChina gas pipeline in 2009, the volume of transported Turkmen gas has reached 460 billion cubic meters as of March 1, 2026.

Earlier, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said a major new phase — the fourth stage of development of the Galkynysh gas field — will be launched in the coming days.
