“Chronicles of Turkmenistan” has previously reported that in the run-up to the Asian Games sections of avenues near the Olympic village were cordoned off in Ashgabat.
This led to additional traffic on parallel streets. On 30 August a huge traffic jam formed on Nurmukhammed Andalib street (formerly, Mir street).
The traffic jam started at midday and lasted until the evening.
Moreover, the police block access to the yards of residential houses.Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that police officers even stopped ambulance vehicles which had been called.
Law enforcement officers replied curtly to outraged residents: “Bolonok!” (it is forbidden).Medical doctors and nurses had to walk to see the patients and to carry all the necessary equipment.
