This morning, in the village Uch-Ajy of the Mary velayat of Turkmenistan was recorded a temperature -26.2°, reports “Meteojournal”.
Currently abnormally cold weather is observed on the whole territory of the country.
In subtropical Esenguly this morning the temperature dropped to -10.8° below zero. Here is a record in comparison with the minimum temperature of the day, which was previously -7.5° in 1935 and was a record.
Frosts in Turkmenabat reached -22°, which is 6° more than the record minimal daily temperature -16°, recorded here in 1974.
In Sarahs the minimal temperature records have also been broken, where the temperature is -17.9° today. In 1977, a record minus temperature -11.4° was recorded here.
The source notes that such cols weather in Turkmenistan was observed in 2008 but still the temperature was orderly lower than now.
