Tajik President Meets Turkmen Vice-Premier in Dushanbe

Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atahallyyev in Dushanbe on March 4, the presidential press service reported.

The talks focused on the current state and future prospects of strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as priority areas for its further development.

Rahmon noted steady progress in bilateral relations and highlighted the significant potential for expanding cooperation in trade, industry, transport and logistics, and the agricultural sector.

Both sides expressed interest in strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, including in sports and tourism, as well as youth, cultural, and scientific-educational exchanges. The role of the Intergovernmental Commission was underscored as a key mechanism for implementing agreements in practice.

The meeting also included discussions on maintaining regular intergovernmental dialogue and coordinating engagement within international and regional organizations.

Deputy Chairman Atahallyyev arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the next session of the Tajik-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.
