Tajikistan Launches Freight Train to Turkey Through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran

The first freight train from Tajikistan to Turkey through territories of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran began its journey in a ceremony held in Tajik capital Dushanbe on Monday, according to the news website of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

The ceremony was attended by delegations from these countries, transport companies and businesses.

The logistics conference of Tajikistan was simultaneously held with the participation of representatives of different countries.

The heads of the transport authorities of Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan following discussions during first ministerial meeting on October 8-9 on transit cooperation in Tehran signed a joint statement with the aim of developing transit cooperation.
