Tendencies and perspectives of cooperation in oil and gas sphere to be discussed at OGT 2017

On November 2 4, 2017, Ashgabat will host XXII International Exhibition Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan and the conference dedicated to tendencies and perspectives of cooperation in oil and gas sphere. The State Concern Turkmenneft and Trade and Industrial Chamber of Turkmenistan are the hosts of branch forum.

Largest companies from 16 states will participate in OGT 2017. 300 competent experts representing international intergovernmental organizations, embassies, foreign companies and mass media will gather in Turkmen capital.It is expected that heads of ministries of energy of Russia and Georgia, representatives of European Commission, State Department of the USA, Office of the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, International Energy Charter, “Exxon Mobil”, “SOCAR”, “BP”, “Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd”, “Samsung”, “Dragon Oil Turkmenistan”, “Petronas Çarigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn.

Bhd”, “CNPC International”, “ENI”, “Axis Communications”, “Merdem”, “Total”, “ILF Consulting Engineers”, Burckhardt Compression AG, Westport Trading Europe Limited, Capex, Albemarle Chemicals, “Burintekh”, “Honeywell”, “Morinzhgeology”, “Wood Group”, “Inter State Gas Systems”and “Allen & Overy” companies will make reports at the conference.

Companies and enterprises involved in development of gas and condensate deposits, production, preparation and processing of natural gas as well as production and supply of liquefied gas to internal consumers and its export will demonstrate their expositions.

Discussion of the perspectives of the development of international, regional and national oil and gas industry and marketing strategy will be held during the conference. Specialists will make analysis of the trends at oil, gas and other hydrocarbon processing and transportation markets.

High interest to oil and gas forum from international energy companies is stipulated by the fact that today, share of natural gas grows among other energy carriers and hence, it is obvious that leading world companies wish to establish close cooperation with our country, which has huge potential deposits of hydrocarbons and is one of the promising player in the world market.

According to independent international experts, the reserves of natural gas in the country are 23 trillion of cubic meters.Being largest supplier of gas in the Central Asia, Turkmenistan has all capabilities for increasing of production volumes and export in few coming years.

At present, the State Concern Turkmengaz leading production complex of Turkmenistan, develops around 30 gas and condensate deposits.Number of production wells is around 1000 units.Turkemngaz provides internal requirements in full volume and the fulfilment of contractual obligations on gas supply to foreign consumers.

It is planned to reach 230 million cubic meters of gas per year by 2030.It will provide sustainable development of national economy, its competiveness and investment attraction.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays great attention to the development of oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan. Considerable growth of investment is stipulated for the achievements of planned indicators of hydrocarbons production and their export to the world’s markets. Industrial development of giant gas deposit Galkynysh is one of the largest projects in this sphere.

Commissioning of Turkmenistan China gas pipeline, which is the largest international energy project of XXI, is meant a new fuel and energy infrastructure in Asian continent. The supply of Turkmen gas to China will be increased and will reach 65 billion cubic meters per year.

At present time, Turkmenistan develops new methods of the export of gas.Turkmen side made important steps towards realization of the project of construction of interstate gas line Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India, which length is to be 1735 km and project output capacity is to be 33 billion cubic meters per year.

Perspectives of TAPI gas line in the context of support of stability in the region, provision for creation of thousands of work occupancies and conditions for further development of industrial infrastructure are to be discussed during the conference.

The agenda of the conference will include large spectrum of issues related to the development of petrochemical complex of Turkmenistan as this is the sphere where international cooperation, foreign investment and technical innovations are to play leading role.

At present time, the State Concern Turkmengaz in cooperation with the consortium of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd (Japan) and Ronesans (Turkish Republic) builds successfully the plant for production of gasoline from natural gas.

Turkmen gas producers together with the consortium of TOYO Engineering (Japan), LG International Corporation and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd (the Republic of Korea) build large petrochemical complex for production of polyethylene and polypropylene in Kiyanly settlement, Balkan Velayat.

The agenda includes the construction of new facilities for processing of gas in Central Karakums Bagaja deposit petrochemical complex for production of 80 thousand tons of styrene-butadiene rubber and 45 thousand tons of polystyrene per year as well as the plant for processing of 2 billion cubic meters of gas and production of 70 thousand tons of liquefied gas in Ilyanly, Dashoguz Velayat and second production train for 200 thousand tons of low pressure polyethylene.

These projects of are very important for the states participating in the projects and require the concentration of considerable financial resources, application of modern achievements of science and technology as well as joint decisions together with international, regional and local companies and financial institutes, which is also may be the subject of discussion at gas forum.
