On 5 July President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov was briefed that the grain harvest plan was exceeded by 50 thousand tons against the projected volume of 1,600,000 tons.
Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” have found out that the Deputy Prime Minister quoted different data to the Presidential executive office.According to him, only 845,000 tons of grain was harvested.
However, at the backdrop of flour and bread deficit, the authorities made a decision to inflate the volume of crops, which had been harvested.
The largest tonnage of falsified data, 272,000 tons, was assigned to Akhal velayat, which was recently headed by Serdar Berdymukhammedov. As a result, according to state-run media outlet, instead of the projected volume of 450,000 tons some 472,665 tons of grain were harvested with the plan being fulfilled by 105%.
In reality, the velayat, which had been affected by torrential rain, harvested slightly more than 200,000 tons.
Some 533,000 falsified tons of grain were distributed among the reaming four velayats.
Let us recall that in 2018, according to sources of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, Turkmenistan harvested a third of the projected grain crops volume.
