A new car tunnel located under the roundabout at the intersection of “10 iyl Abadanchylyk avenue and Nurmukhammed Andalib street has been opened in Ashgabat.
The opening ceremony with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov was scheduled to be held on 22 April.In this connection air conditioners were dismantled from the adjacent residential buildings, which caused discontent among city inhabitants.
Police officers informed the residents that “10 yil Abadanchylyk” avenue (formerly, Moscow avenue) is now a government motorway.Moreover, not only air conditioners need to be removed but residents are not allowed to put linen out to dry from the side of the backyard. “The President is expected to personally attend the opening ceremony!”, — police officers presented their main argument.
The tunnel opening ceremony, which was not attended by the President, was held on 28 April.
