The CEC of Turkmenistan recognized the elections to the country's parliament as valid

Chairman of the CEC of Turkmenistan Gulmurat Muradov said that the elections to the Mejlis, held on Sunday, March 26, were recognized as valid.

Earlier it was reported that the turnout in the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan at the time of the closing of polling stations amounted to 91,12% of the total number of voters.

In the elections to the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, 3 496 475 voters were registered in the country and 13 078 voters abroad.

At present time, the counting and processing of votes is underway, the results of the elections will be announced in the coming days.

The Mejlis of Turkmenistan is the only legislative body in the country. He adopts the Constitution and laws, makes amendments and additions to them, considers the main directions of the state's domestic and foreign policy, decides on holding national referendums, and calls elections for the President and deputies of parliament.
