The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the first meeting of the Dialogue of women leaders of Central Asian States

Today, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the meeting of the Dialogue of women leaders of Central Asian States via direct video link.This event, which has been added to the list of significant events of the year Independent neutral Turkmenistan the homeland of purposeful winged horses, aims to find constructive solutions to pressing contemporary issues through interactions between female leaders of Central Asian countries.

The meeting of the Dialogue on the theme Women of Central Asia: priority tasks and joint actions was held under the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan.The forum, dedicated to the role of women leaders in society, was attended by the head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), female heads of parliaments from Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the head of the UN Women Regional office for Central Asia.

During the online meeting, an exchange of views took place on events planned as part of chairmanship of Uzbekistan of the Dialogue of women leaders of Central Asian States in 2026.

Particular attention was paid to issues of ensuring gender equality in the region, supporting activity of women in public administration and the economy, consolidating efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), etc.
