The Chess Federation of Russia became a full member of the Asian Chess Federation

On May 1, the Chess Federation of Russia officially became a full member of the Asian Chess Federation, reports the press service of the Chess Federation of Russia.

CFR Executive Director Alexander Tkachev and Secretary General of the Asian Chess Federation Hisham Al-Taher signed a memorandum of cooperation in the development of chess sports in the Russian Federation and member countries of the Asian Chess Federation. The CFR is committed to hosting at least one official continental event every year.

Let us remind that on February 28, at the Continental Assembly of the Asian Chess Federation in Abu Dhabi, the delegates voted for admission to the CFR.

The CFR became the first Russian sports organization that moved from a European federation to an Asian one. Today, 52 associations have been gathered under the auspices of the Asian organization.
