The planned contractual obligations of the Ahal grain producers are 450 thousand tons of grain, the Mary's - 380 thousand tons, the Lebap - 350 thousand tons, the Dashoguz - 300 thousand tons and the Balkan - 120 thousand tons.
In addition to 760 hectares of land allocated for winter wheat, an area of one hundred thousand hectares is allocated for seed production.The largest number of such farms is located in Mary, Dashoguz and Lebap regions.
This year's sowing campaign will use high-yielding, well-proven varieties - Sahrai, Dzhuvan, Bitarap, Miras, Yeloten-1, Yeloten-3, etc., developed by the specialists of the Research Institute Agriculture.
Cultivation of Russian wheat seeds in Turkmenistan has been continuing since 2007 as part of the implementation of the protocol of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Issues of the CIS.
