The Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS, Ivana Zivkovic, will visit Turkmenistan for the first time on December 10-12 to participate in the International Forum “Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace” in Ashgabat, where she will speak on behalf of the organization, reports IIC.
During the visit, Zivkovic is scheduled to meet with senior government officials to discuss prospects for the development of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and UNDP in the field of healthcare, digital transformation and social protection.
She will also visit UNDP-supported medical facilities and transfer an advanced mobile PCR laboratory to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan to improve the efficiency of the healthcare system.
It is also planned to visit the cardboard and printing workshop of the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan, renovated within the framework of the UNDP initiative to empower people with disabilities.
