The first stage of digitalization of agriculture in Turkmenistan completed in partnership with John Deer

The first stage of the transition to digitalization of agriculture in Turkmenistan within the framework of memorandums with the American company John Deer has been successfully implemented.

The head of the company, Mark von Pentz, announced this in a congratulatory message to President Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the Harvest Festival, the state news agency TDH reports.

Now we are working on the implementation of the second stage of the large-scale project. This requires timely deliveries of the necessary agricultural machinery and equipment to Turkmenistan.

Memoranda of cooperation in the field of digitalization were signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and John Deer at the First Economic Forum in Avaza in August 2019.

Earlier, ORIENT reported that in January-September, the farms of Turkmenistan increased the volume of mechanized work in crop production by 61.8% compared to the same period last year.

These data indicate that agriculture in Turkmenistan is becoming more technological. Due to digitalization, the yield and quality of agricultural products are increasing, the number of jobs for highly qualified specialists machine operators is increasing.

The increase in mechanized work has an impact on vegetable growing, waste farming, and the growing of fruits and berries. So, in January-September, in the farms of Turkmenistan, vegetables were harvested by 8.4%, melons by 10.1%, fruits and vegetables by 7.6%.
