The head of Turkmenistan congratulated the President of France on Bastille Day

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations to President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of the national holiday of France celebrated today - Bastille Day.

Taking the opportunity, the head of Turkmenistan expressed wishes to President Emmanuel Macron of good health and happiness, and to the people of France - peace, well-being and further prosperity, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports today.

In France, every year on July 14, a national holiday is celebrated - Bastille Day (La Fête Nationale / Bastille Day) or July 14 Day (Le Quatorze Juillet). This date was set in 1880.

The historical event that became the basis for the establishment of the holiday occurred during the French Revolution - in 1789, the rebellious Parisians stormed the fortress-prison Bastille, a symbol of royal despotism, and freed seven prisoners. This event is considered the beginning of the French Revolution, as well as a symbol of the overthrow of absolutism.

This year in Paris, as usual, there will be fireworks on Friday evening at the Eiffel Tower. It will be preceded by a grand symphony concert by the Orchester National de France on the Champ de Mars.
