The 2028 European Football Championship will be in the UK and Ireland. This was reported on the official website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The host countries of the tournament became known after Türkiye withdrew its bid to host the Euro in 2028. At the same time, Türkiye submitted a joint bid with Italy to host Euro 2032.
Let us note that a joint application to host Euro 2028 was submitted by the football associations of England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The current champion of the tournament is the Italian team. The team won the tournament in 2021, which took place in ten countries - Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Russia and Romania.
Let us remind that the next European Championship 2024 will be held in Germany from June 14 to July 14. 24 teams will take part in it. Germany, as the host country, receives an automatic right to participate in the tournament.
