The Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation was held

The Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of the head of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov began its work in Ashgabat on May 12.

The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Talant Mamytov, Chairman of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisa Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali and Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlisa of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva participated in the meeting, initiated by Turkmenistan.

During the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation, issues of developing cooperation in the legislative sphere, establishing effective formats for close and mutually beneficial partnership in politics, economics, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.

As a result of the forum, the Ashgabat Declaration of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the countries of Central Asia and the Russian Federation was adopted, which includes 11 major duties and tasks.

Also, two cooperation agreements were signed: the Cooperation Agreement between the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, and the Cooperation Agreement between the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Majlisi milli of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan.

During the Forum, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded the Golden Order “Honorary Elder”, the highest award of the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan, and the highest awards of the National Fund “Dede Korkut”, established jointly with the International magazine “Azerbaijan dunyasy” the National Prize “In the name of world peace” and the Golden Order “Ulu türk”.

Also, according to the relevant Decree of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko was awarded the Order “For contribution to the development of cooperation”.
