The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan received 4,4 tons of dexamethasone preparations from UNICEF

The UN Children's Fund financed the supply of 4,4 tons of tablets and ampoules of dexamethasone preparations in the amount of more than 413 thousand USD to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

As it is noted on the UNICEF website, medicines for the treatment of patients with severe respiratory infections will be distributes to relevant healthcare facilities throughout Turkmenistan.

The preparations transfer was within the framework of the implementation of the National Preparedness and Response Plan for Combating and to Acute Infectious Diseases, which was adopted on May 22, 2022 in Turkmenistan at the state level.

Dexamethasone is used for the supportive treatment of patients, both children and the elderly.
