The national team of Turkmenistan confidently beat Bhutan in the Davis Cup

The national tennis team of Turkmenistan confidently beat the Bhutan team in the match of the 1st tour of the group stage of the IV group of Asian and Ocenia zone.

The game was held within the frame of “B” group (subgroup “A”), the matches of which are held in Madinat-Isa (Bahrain).

Yuri Rogussky beat Nidupa Gyeltsten - 6:2, 6:0, Meylis Orazmuhammedov defeated Pema Norbu — 6:2, 6:0. The Gurbanberdy Gurbanberdyev/Yuri Rogussky pair turned out to be stronger than the Bhutanese duo Tenzin Singye Dorji/Tandin Wangchuk — 6:4, 6:2.

The national team of Turkmenistan won the first victory at the tournament, the Bhutanese suffered the second defeat.

In the next match, the Turkmen national team will play with the team of Mongolia.

As per the Rules of the competition, the winners of “A” and “B” will play in the determinative match for the right to take part in Group III of the Asia and Oceania zone in 2023.

The Davis Cup is the largest international team competition in men’s tennis, which has been held since 1990.
