The number of Internet users in the Mary velayat has reached 50,000

The number of Internet users in the Mary velayat has reached 50,000, in accordance with the data for 2021, according to the website “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age”.

The number of Internet users has increased fourfold in the last three years, the publication notes.

The network equipment “Martytelecom” is installed in all districts of velayat.

“After the reduction in tariffs on the use of the Internet in just a few days, we have seen an increasing interest in the population to this most promising communication technology today.

People are applying for installation of receiving devices, and some of the registered users have decided to change the tariff plans”, told Yusup Gammaev, deputy director of “Martytelecom”, to the publication.

As a reminder, since February 2021, the decision of the “Turkmenaragatnashyk” Agency in Turkmenistan has reduced tariffs on Internet use, limiting traffic on ADSL technology and unlimited Internet on ADSL, VDSL technologies, as well as renting a dedicated dataway.

Reduced rates are provided separately for urban population, rural population in the provinces, for state-owned enterprises and organizations, private entrepreneurs, non-governmental entities without foreign investors and for scientific and educational institutions of Turkmenistan.

On average, prices have dropped from 22% to 52%.
