The number of missing children in Turkmenistan goes up

The cases of children going missing in Turkmenistan have become more frequent. In the residential district “Uchpunkt” located in the city of Turkmenabat alone three children did not return home in February, 2020.

According to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, dozens of resident go missing across the country.The police fail to resolve the problem and only tell parents off that they should keep a closer eye on their children.

Moreover, the parents are forced to wait for an official permit for three to four days to be able to post photos of missing children in the city.The announcements on missing children in Turkmenistan are also posted in social networks.

Over the past two years the bodies of two children have been found.One of the boys fell to the canal flowing through the residential district Uchpunkt.

We failed to find out the details of the death of the second boy.One of the missing kids was found alive shortly after the incident after he had fallen into the sewer hatch.

The parents of missing children are trying to prevent similar tragedies in other families. They are submitting applications and addresses to all higher-ranking authorities with a request to install more web cameras in the city, tighten the patrolling of the yards, not only parks and restaurants.
