The Panama Canal will limit the passage of ships due to falling water levels

Due to shallowing, the Panama Canal will limit tanker passage to 25 units per day starting Friday. Previously, about 40 ships passed through the canal. The drought that hit Panama this year has led to water shortages. As a result, cargo ships wait in line for five days, informs “MIR 24”.

In August, the Panama Canal became jammed with more than 200 ships. The reason was also the sharp shallowing of the canal caused by severe drought.
