The President briefed on the car rally website launch and preparations for concerts and festivities

At the joint session of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers and the Security Council held on 7 August preparations for the car rally “Amul-Khazar” were on the agenda.

According to the state information agency TDH, it was emphasized at the session that the web-based resource had been recently set up to post all news related to the car rally and register athlete applications.

However, the website address was not specified by the news outlet.

The website of Turkmenistan’s Migration Office gives a link to the website www.turkmendesertrace.com, which is available in French and English.

Let us recall that in May it was reported that Turkmenistan signed the agreement with Africa Eco Race to effectively host and cover the rally in media outlets as well as ensure the participation of renowned athletes in the event.

Turkmenistan’s Interior Minister Isgender Mulikov informed President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov that special courses had been arranged for drivers, navigators and technical personnel which will represent the national team.

In her turn Deputy Prime Minister overseeing culture and mass media Bakhargul Abdyeva reported about preparations for cultural events, timed to coincide with the start of the international car rally “Amul-Khazar 2018”. According to her, concerts featuring artists and creative teams are scheduled to be organized.

The president called for “thoroughly designing the program of cultural events which will be held along the route of the car rally and at the finish line and highlighted that they should reflect the significance of the event as well as accomplishments of Turkmen sports”.

A week ago, on 2 August, President Berdymukhammedov familiarized himself with souvenir gifts and textile products designed for the car rally.
