The President of Kazakhstan will participate in the Caspian summit in Ashgabat

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will participate in full-time format in the VI Caspian Summit, which will be held on June 29 in Ashgabat. About this reported TASS with reference to the press service of the head of state.

In total, the leaders of five countries will participate in the summit. Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan. During the negotiations, they should discuss the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.

On the eve of this event, on June 28, a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Caspian states will be held in Ashgabat.

Last time Tokayev visited Turkmenistan in October 2021 on a state visit.

Let us remind that V Caspian Summit was held in 2018 in the Kazakh city of Aktau.Russian President Valdimir Putin, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev participated in the summit.

The main outcome of the summit was the signing of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.
