On 17 February, 2020 the son of Turkmenistan’s President, Minister of Industry and Construction Serdar Berdymukhammedov, arrived in Tatarstan with a two-day working visit, the public affairs office of Tatarstan’s President reports.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with Serdar Berdymukhammedov in the Kazan Kremlin. The sides discussed economic cooperation. According to Minnikhanob, the trade turnover saw an increase in the 9 months of last year but there are still opportunities in place to increase its further potential.
“Considerable potential for further cooperation has been fulfilled in such areas as oil exploration, oil production, transportation of gas, automobile manufacturing, aircraft and ship-building, energy, supply of chemical products, pharmaceuticals, medicine, construction, agriculture, innovation and IT”, the President of Tatarstan was quoted as saying.
Later on, in the course of the visit, the high tech city called Innopolis, built on the outskirts of Kazan, was demonstrated to Berdymukhammedov.
The city accommodates Innopolis University which trains managers in high tech and conducts research in IT and robotics.The city is also located in the special economic zone.
Moreover, the Minister of Industry and Construction of Turkmenistan is scheduled to pay a visit to the technology park “Khimgard”, which is scheduled to accommodate the fair featuring the produce of local artisans.
Berdymukhammedov junior is scheduled to meet the officials from Tatarstan’s ministries and enterprises under the leadership of Deputy Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov. The minutes of the meeting are going to be signed to sum up the results of the visit.
Serdar Berdymukhammeov was appointed Turkmenistan’s Minister of Industry and Construction on 7 February, 2020. He had previously held the position of the khyakim (head) of Akhal province.
Serdar is responsible for the construction of the new city, the capital of Akhal velayat with the construction works to be completed by 2022.
