The President of Turkmenistan met with UN Secretary-General Guterres in New York

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to New York, met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as current issues on the international agenda, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan, guided by the principles of positive neutrality, is implementing a foreign policy aimed at ensuring the well-being of the peoples of the region and the whole world. He emphasized that Turkmenistan steadily follows the generally recognized norms of international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov for his personal participation in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. He noted the active and proactive position of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the UN.

At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and working together to ensure peace, security and sustainable development.
