On 11 June President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov held a video conference where he discussed the wheat harvesting campaign.
Berdymukhammedov instructed that executives of all velayats “should create the best conditions to ensure efficient performance and proper recreational events for farmers, including hot meals delivery service and organizing cultural entertainments and food trucks”, the state information agency TDH reports.
According to the video footage shown by Turkmen television, concerts are held in the fields. Vendor stalls selling various merchandise and mobile libraries have been installed there.
Moreover, the head of the state demanded that prompt payments with grain farmers be ensured.
This year 1 million and 600 thousand tons of grains are projected to be harvested from 760 thousand hectares of land.
