The International Forum to attract foreign investment in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan has started in Paris, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
The event is organized by the “Turkmengas” State Concern, “Turkmenneft” and “Turkmengeologiya” in partnership with the Turkmen Forum and the British company GaffneyCline.
Opening the meeting, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues Ashyrguly Begliyev read out a welcoming address from the head of state.
About 300 delegates participate in the forum. For two days, Turkmenistan will be the focus of attention of participants in the international forum, which will bring together leading national and international energy companies.
Three sessions will be held on the first day of the forum.Among the speakers of the plenary session, the topic of which is “The Role of Turkmenistan in the Future of Global Energy”, is Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Amanov, State Minister of Turkmenistan - Chairman of the “Turkmengas” State Consern Maksat Babayev, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN and Executive Secretary of the UNECE Tatyana Molchan, Chief Executive Director of the Chinese Energy Consortium Geo Jade Huineng Conan Dai, OPEC Secretary General Haitham al-Ghais, President of the France-Turkmenistan Business Council MEDEF International, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bouygues Bâtiment International Pierre-Eric Saint-André, Executive Director of the Global Gas Center (GGC) Valerie Ducrot and International Energy Agency (IEA) Chief Energy Economist Tim Gould.
