September 8 marked the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Dagestan poet Rasul Gamzatov, whose works have now been translated into more than 80 languages. Many of Rasul Gamzatov’s poems have become famous songs, the most popular of which is
“Cranes”. The poet's anniversary is widely celebrated not only in Russia, but throughout the world.
