At the Cabinet session held on 6 April President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov was briefed on the construction of the potassium plant and the motorway.
A soft loan worth $3 billion was provided to Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on 16 March to build the ore mining facility to produce potassium fertilizers and the motorway Ashgabat-Turkmenabat.
The President charged Deputy Prime Minister Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov with the task of preparing and submitting detailed project-related documentation, the news outlet “Turkmenistan: golden age” reports.
Let us recall that the President of Turkmenistan had previously filed a complaint pertaining to the quality of the construction works performed in Garlyk mining and refining facility to Belarus construction workers who “had not fully fulfilled their contractual obligations”.
The first mining and refining facility was commissioned on 31 March 2017.Belarus was expected to build the second plant but later the CEO of “Belaruskaliy” Ivan Golovatiy was quoted as saying that the company had not submitted a tender application as they were discontent with the conditions proposed by the authorities of Turkmenistan.
