The greatest Turkmen composer Nury Halmamedov in 2018 would have turned 80 years old. He lived a short life: he passed away at a high ebb, at the age of 45, but the light of his soul and the trembling of the heart continue to live in his genius compositions.
The musical evening was dedicated in memory of the composer. Family and friends as well as numerous admirers of his talent gathered in the Palace of Mukams. The State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Rasul Klychev performed compositions from the rich musical heritage of Nury Halmamedov.
The concert program included soundtracks for five movies: "Makhtumkuli", "Fishermen of the Caspian Sea", "Contest", "Secrets of Mukama", "The decisive step", as well as songs, arias from operas, ballads.
The evening was opened with the song "Ashgabat", which once brought fame to the people's artist of Turkmenistan, Atageldy Garyagdiyev, and initiated the friendship of the music school student with the great composer.
The visualization of the performance of the "Golden Baritone of Turkmenistan", accompanied by the state chorus, was a photo-book, which acquainted with bright moments from the life of Nury Halmamedov.
Music for the film "Makhtumkuli" directed by Alta Karliev was supplemented by a video from the fragments of the picture, thanks to which the listeners plunged into the atmosphere of the poet's selfless love for a beautiful girl named Mengli.
Then the melody from the film Khodzhakuli Narliev "Fishermen of the Caspian Sea" spread across the hall replacing each other with energetic and lyrical waves.The sea is different, it gently caresses the shore with a foamy wave, enchants the view with a ribbed surface that extends beyond the horizon ...
But it can also sink into a state of raging elements.However, storms on the sea are temporary, but the poetic beauty and greatness of the Caspian are eternal.

For many listeners, it was the first acquaintance with the rising star of vocal art.People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Gulnar Nuryeva performed three songs from this picture, including Lullaby.
Also, musical fragments loved by many generations on the themes: the riverbank, the wedding procession, the heroic passage through the black sands were heard.
The concert ended with a symphonic work that found a response in the hearts of our people and foreign music lovers - "Turkmenistan's Spaces". The rich melody was organically supplemented by the video series, which acquainted with the rich diversity of Turkmen nature, its poetic beauty.
To the question: "What kind of person was Nury Halmamedov?" the widow of the composer Gulya Klychevna Halmamedova, who attended the concert as an honored guest, replied:
When Nury was 9 years old, he luckily found three rubles.For the orphanage boy, it seemed a huge fortune, and, without warning anyone, he went from Bakharden to Moscow.
He was taken off from the train already in Mary, and from three rubles to that moment there was not much left ...So Nury Halmamedov remained his whole life - impetuous, generous and loving.
I remember how one day at a Moscow airport Domodedovo heard on the radio a melody of Nury Halmamedov. I was covered by a wave of emotions and I really wanted to tell the people around me that this is my husband’s compositions ... Thank you for the moments of happiness that his music enchants my life!
