Former Argentina national team striker Hernan Crespo, who played for Italian “Inter”, “Milan” and English “Chelsea”, has been appointed head coach of “Al Ain”. This was reported by the press service of the team from the United Arab Emirates.

In this post, he replaced the Dutch coach Alfred Schröder, who resigned last Tuesday after the victory over “Al Feiha” (3:2) in the 4th round of the Asian Champions League.

Hernan Crespo is 48 years old. His last place of work was the Qatari “Al-Duhail”.

“Al Ain” is the opponent of the Turkmen “Ahal” in the group stage of the 2023/24 AFC Champions League. The teams met in the second round. The meeting was held in the UAE and ended in favor of the home team with a score of 4:2.

Let us remind that the UAE club won all four matches in the group stage of the AFC Champions League and secured first place in quartet A.

In the next round, on November 28, “Al-Ain” will meet at home with the Uzbek “Pakhtakor”, and in the final 6th round of the group stage of the Asian Champions League, they will go to visit “Ahal”. This match will be on December 5 at the “Ashgabat” stadium and will start at 19:00 local time.
