A specialized training center “Diplomatic Protocol” opened on Sunday at the Institute of International Relations of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The opening ceremony took place as part of the festive events dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan, writes TDH.
Diplomatic protocol is a set of rules, traditions and conventions observed by governments, foreign departments, diplomatic missions, and other officials in the process of international communication.The rules of the protocol are based on the so-called principle of “international comity”.
In this context, there is a need to improve the system of training qualified diplomatic personnel in accordance with international standards, capable of representing the interests of the country on the world stage.
Thus, a timely decision to open a Training Center at the IIR will increase the research and intellectual potential of one of the leading universities in Turkmenistan, comments the State News Agency.
On the same day, the International Conference “Magtymguly Fragi’s Concept of Peace and the Diplomacy of Neutral Turkmenistan” was held at the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The participants of the celebration visited the Museum of the History of Turkmen Diplomacy of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they got acquainted with the history of the creation of the university and its achievements.
Diplomatic documents, copies of letters, handwritten books, information about the structure of the Institute, international conferences and forums, as well as teaching aids, scientific works, books by the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, published in different languages, are presented here.
The forum dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan was attended by some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in our country, representatives of the domestic diplomatic service, public organizations, the media, teaching staff and students of a number of universities.
A thematic exhibition and video demonstration dedicated to the history of Turkmen diplomacy, as well as the creation of this higher educational institution, were organized in the foyer of the Institute.
Those gathered listened with great attention to the Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to diplomatic workers on the occasion of their professional holiday.
According to tradition, in commemoration of the professional holiday, a ceremony was also held to present young employees of the diplomatic service and final year students of the IIR with diplomas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their active participation in the implementation of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan.
At the end of the conference, a festive concert was organized at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the participation of creative teams from universities.
Let us remind that yesterday, within the framework of the forum, friendship sports games were held in the Olympic village with the participation of employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country.
Diplomats competed in sports such as table tennis, mini-football, volleyball and bowling.
