The Turkmenistan National Electronic Sports Federation launches a program to promote women's Esports

The Turkmenistan National Electronic Sports Federation (TMESF) and the e-sports team Galkynysh Esports have joined forces to promote women's e-sports in the country.

TMESF believes that the future of esports in Turkmenistan depends on diversity and equal opportunities. To create such opportunities, the federation has launched an initiative to develop women’s esports, according to the federation’s official website. TMESF Secretary General Mekan Eeberdiyev expressed hope that this will attract more women to the industry.

Galkynysh Esports already has a women's team in Counter-Strike 2. Captain Elena Bashimova noted the importance of the initiative, which opens doors for talented girls.

“We are proud that our female Counter-Strike 2 squad has already proven its competitiveness in friendly matches, we hope and are preparing for the girls to compete at the upcoming World Esports Championship in December 2024”, noted development manager Galkynysh Esports Ayjan Gulgeldyeva.

It is also noted that TMESF and Galkynysh Esports are preparing a series of e-sports tournaments for women in various disciplines. This will provide an opportunity to show talent and create new teams.

“The initiative not only stimulates women’s esports, but also makes the industry more inclusive, adding a new quality to the cultural image of the country”, - TMESF said in a statement.
