At the Cabinet session held on 30 December, 2020 President Gurbanguly Berdymukahmemdov discussed construction of new facilities in Turkmenistan.
According to the head of state, about two and a half million manufacturing and community facilities with a total value of $37 billion are currently under construction, the state information agency TDH reports.
In 2020, some 45 large-scale construction sites with a total value of 7 billion manats ($2 billion using the official rate or $255 million at “the black market” rate) were commissioned.
These include residential buildings with a total space of about 2 million square meters, kindergartens, schools and medical facilities.
The head of state instructed that next year all events, including festive opening ceremonies and commissioning of the facilities, be devoted to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral status.
The commissioning of new construction sites in 2020 was devoted to the 25th anniversary of neutrality.
It is expected that the main facility to be opened by the Day of Independence will be a 300 meter monument. The tender for its construction was announced in March 2020.
Let us recall that because of the economic slump, in August 2020 the President ordered to review the order of priority for building new sites in Turkmenistan.
On 19 November, 2020 he ordered to select some unique facilities which should be festively opened in 2021.The post The value of construction-in-progress in Turkmenistan amounts to billion first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
