The volume of money transfers from Turkmenistan to Belarus at the end of 2020 exceeded 17 million US dollars. The figures on cross-border money transfers were published by the National Bank of Belarus, according to the information portal of the city of Grodno.

The statistics of the Belarusian National Bank takes into account transfers made through international money transfer systems Western Union, Money Gram and other systems.

In 2020, residents of Belarus received transfers from abroad in the total amount of 319 million 950.2 thousand US dollars.

Most of all transfers over the past year Belarusians received from Russia - 100 million 165.2 thousand dollars. The second place was taken by the USA (48 million 44.7 thousand dollars), the third - by Turkmenistan (17 million 757.2 thousand dollars).

The most active money was transferred to Belarus from Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and the Czech Republic.

Let us remind you that the first place in terms of the number of foreigners in Belarusian universities are citizens of Turkmenistan. More than 9 thousand Turkmen students study in higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of Belarus.
